GOOLE Thermostatic Steam Traps are available with balanced-pressure bellows or wafer-type elements and are constructed in a variety of materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel and bronze. These traps are used on applications with very light condensate loads.
Thermostatic operation
Thermostatic steam traps operate on steam’s temperature difference from cooled condensate and air. Steam increases the pressure inside the thermostatic element, causing the trap to close. As condensate and non-condensable gases back up in the cooling leg, the temperature begins to drop, and the thermostatic element contracts and opens the valve.
The amount of condensate backed up ahead of the trap depends on the load conditions, steam pressure and size of the piping. It is important to note that an accumulation of non-condensable gases can occur behind the condensate backup.
 
NOTE: Thermostatic traps can also be used for venting air from a steam system. When air collects, the temperature drops and the thermostatic air vent automatically discharges the air at slightly below steam temperature throughout the entire operating pressure range.

Thermostatic Steam Trap Application: 
This thermostatic steam trap is widely used for main pipe of heating supply and small size heating equipment as material heat tracing and valve material heat tracing.

Thermostatic Steam Trap Working Principle: 
With the change of pressure in siphon bellows, drive the valve plug for opening and closing the valve seat hole, realize stopping steam and drain.

Thermostatic Steam Trap Use and Maintenance: 

Confirm the valve material, pressure and check if the maximum is suitable for operation condition.
Before installation, clean the pipeline and clear away sundries.
The installation position shall be closed to heating equipment as much as possible.
Install the minimum point of pipe horizontally and the direction of flow should be the same to the label of valve.
Install steam trap for each heating equipment in case cause influence each other.
under the safe operation of system, open the valve in front of the steam trap, make it rise up to normal station slowly.
Do time-based maintenance for the normal working of steam trap.
